WORLRD'S FIRST INVENTION & DISCOVERY.

1. World’s First DigitalCamera (1975): Created by Kodak's engineer Steve Sasson

InDecember 1975, Kodak engineer Steve Sasson invented something that would, decades later, revolutionize photography: the world’s first digitalcamera. It was the size of a toaster, and captured black and white imagesat a resolution of 100×100 - or 0.01 megapixels in today’s marketingterminology. The images were stored on cassette tape, taking 23 seconds towrite. The camera uses an ADC from Motorola, a bog-standard (for the1970s) lens from a Kodak movie camera, and a CCD chip from FairchildSemiconductor - the same technology that digital cameras still use today. To playback the images, a special computer and tape reader setup (picturedbelow) was built, outputting the grainy images on a standard TV. It took afurther 23 seconds to read each image from tape.

2. World's First Motel (1925):Motel Inn

Motel Inn in San Luis Obispo, California, is theworld’s first motel. It was built in 1925 by LA architect ArthurHeineman, who coined the term motel meaning "motor hotel." Motel Inn wasoriginally called the Milestone Mo-Tel. Back then, one night stay was$1.25. Heineman couldn’t afford the trademark registration fee, so hiscompetitors were able to use the word "motel." The motel is still inoperation today.

3. World's First Album Cover(1938): Smash Song Hits by Rodgers and Hart

Before AlexSteinweiss, then a 23-year-old designer, invented album covers in 1938 forColumbia Records, albums were sold in plain brown wrappers. The album"Smash Song Hits by Rodgers and Hart" was the very first album cover inthe world.

4. World's First Novel (1007):Tale of Genji

More than a thousend years ago, on 1007, aJapanese court lady put the finishing touches on what is considered theworld's first novel. Spanning 75 years, more than 350 characters, andbrimming with romantic poems, the "Tale of Genji" tells the story of anemperor's son, his quest for love, and the many women he meets along theway. It is attributed to the Japanese noblewoman MurasakiShikibu.

7. World's First X-Ray (1895):Röntgen's wife hand

In 1895 Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, professor of physics the University of Wurburg in Germany, was doingexperiments with electrical discharges in evacuated glass tubes. Late in1895 Wilhelm Röntgen was alone at night doing his experiments, this timein the dark and noticed a glow was produced on the wall, which he knew wasnot caused by fluorescence or visible light. He named these new, unidentified rays 'X' or if you prefer; X-rays. After several months ofplaying with his discovery he noticed that objects place in the path ofthe rays cast shadows and created images on the wall. Soon after he used aphotgraphic plate and had his wife, Frau Röntgen, place her hand in thepath of the X-rays, creating the world's first X-ray picture. In 1901Wilhelm Röntgen was awarded the very first Nobel Prize in Physics forthis discovery.

8. World's First Computer Mouse(1964): by Douglas Engelbart

12. World's First Crossword(1913): Arthur Wynne's Invention

In 1913, Arthur Wynne hadthe job of devising the weekly puzzle page for Fun, the eight-page comicsection of the New York World, a major newspaper of the time. When hedevised what he called a Word-cross for the Christmas edition, publishedon 21 December, he could have no idea that he would be starting aworldwide craze.

13. World's FirstMicroprocessor (1971): Intel 4004

In November, 1971, acompany called Intel publicly introduced the world's first single chipmicroprocessor, the Intel 4004 (U.S. Patent #3,821,715), invented by Intelengineers Federico Faggin, Ted Hoff, and Stan Mazor. After the inventionof integrated circuits revolutionized computer design, the only place togo was down -- in size that is. The Intel 4004 chip took the integratedcircuit down one step further by placing all the parts that made acomputer think (i.e. central processing unit, memory, input and outputcontrols) on one small chip. Programming intelligence into inanimateobjects had now become possible.

14. World's First Magazine(1731): The Gentleman's Magazine

The Gentleman's Magazine, first published in 1731, in London, is considered to have been the first magazine. Edward Cave, who edited The Gentleman's Magazine under the pen name "Sylvanus Urban", was the first to use the term "magazine", on the analogy of a military storehouse of varied materiel, originally derivedfrom the Arabic makazin "storehouses" . It ceased publication in September, 1907.

While God waits for His temple to be built of love, men bring stones.

NEVER GIVE UP.

One day I decided to quit...
I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality. ..
I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

'God', I asked, 'Can you give me one good reason not to quit?'
His answer surprised me...
'Look around', He said. 'Do you see the fern and the bamboo?'
'Yes', I replied.
'When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds,
I took very good care of them.
I gave them light.
I gave them water.
The fern quickly grew from the earth.
Its brilliant green covered the floor.
Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.
But I did not quit on the bamboo.

In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed.
But I did not quit on the bamboo', He said.

'In year three, there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.
But I would not quit.

In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed.
I would not quit.' He said.

'Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant. ..

But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.
It had spent the five years growing roots.
Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
'I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.'

He asked me.
'Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots'.

'I would not quit on the bamboo.
I will never quit on you.'
'Don't compare yourself to others.'

He said.
'The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern.
Yet they both make the forest beautiful.'
'Your time will come',

God said to me.
'You will rise high'
'How high should I rise?' I asked.
'How high will the bamboo rise?' He asked in return.
'As high as it can?' I questioned.
'Yes.'
He said,
'Give me glory by rising as high as you can.'

I left the forest and brought back this story.
I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.

Never, Never, Never Give up.

For Prayer is not an option but an opportunity.
Don't tell the Lord how big the problem is,
tell the problem how Great the Lord is!

Heaven’s door opened this morning,
God asked me...
My CHILD... what can I do for you?'
and I said
'Protect and bless the one reading this message.
God smiled and answered ...
'REQUEST GRANTED'

This message is now in your hands.
What will YOU do with it?

send this to people so they too will have their

lives in God's hands

PROUD MEN ARE ATTRACTIVE

London:Women tend to find happy men less attractive than those who look proud and powerful, a new study has suggested.

In contrast, men are most likely to get attracted to women who look happy, and least to those who appear proud and confident, found the University of British Columbia study.

According to the researchers, the study is the first to report a major gender difference in the attractiveness of smiles, and helps explain the enduring allure of “bad boys” and other iconic gender stereotypes.

It is also the first study to investigate the attractiveness of displays of pride and shame, said Jessica Tracy, who led the study.

“While showing a happy face is usually considered essential to friendly social interactions, including those involving sexual attraction — few studies have actually examined whether a smile is, in fact, actually attractive,” Tracy explained.

“It finds that men and women respond very differently to displays of emotion, including smiles,” she said.

For their study, the researchers asked more than 1,000 adult participants to rate the sexual attractiveness of hundreds of images of the opposite sex.

These photos included universal displays of happiness (broad smiles), pride (raised heads, puffed-up chests) and shame (lowered heads, averted eyes).

The researchers found that women were least attracted to smiling, happy men — in contrast to men, who were most attracted to women who looked happy.

Overall, the researchers said, men rank women more attractive than women rank men. Study co-author Alec Beall said: “It is important to remember that this study explored first-impressions of sexual attraction to images of the opposite sex.

“We were not asking participants if they thought these targets would make a good boyfriend or wife — we wanted their gut reactions on carnal, sexual attraction.”

Other studies suggest that what people find attractive has been shaped by centuries of evolutionary and cultural forces. For example, evolutionary theories suggest females are attracted to male displays of pride because they imply status.

WOMEN, COMPLETE MYSTERY

Stephen Hawking Admits He Finds Women 'A Complete Mystery'

Physicist who has grappled with cosmic inflation and a quantum theory of gravity says he is baffled by women.

Actress Jane Fonda kisses Stephen Hawking after a preview performance of a play in Los Angeles in 2011.

His career has shed light on the secrets of the universe, from the nature of space-time to the workings of black holes, but there is one conundrum that still baffles the world's most famous scientist.

In an interview to mark his 70th birthday this weekend, Stephen Hawking, the former Lucasian professor of mathematics at Cambridge University, admitted he spent most of the day thinking about women. "They are," he said "a complete mystery."

Professor Hawking, whose stardom has included spots on The Simpsons and Star Trek, spoke to New Scientist magazine ahead of an international conference held in his honour that begins on Thursday in Cambridge.

The meeting will culminate in a public symposium on Sunday when some of the world's most prominent physicists give a series of talks on the state of the universe. Among them will be Lord Rees, the Astronomer Royal, Saul Perlmutter, who won the Nobel prize in physics in 2011, and Kip Thorne at the California Institute of Technology.

Earlier this week, eminent researchers expressed admiration and respect for Professor Hawking, a scientist who inspired colleagues and students while forging ahead with fresh insights into some of the most intangible puzzles to hand.

Hawking has made a string of contributions to cosmology throughout a career that many doubted would last as long as it has after he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease at the age of 21. He worked on the inflation of the early universe, a quantum theory of gravity, and famously showed that black holes emit radiation and so slowly disappear.

Asked about the most exciting development in physics during the course of his career, Hawking mentioned the findings of Nasa's Cobe (Cosmic Background Explorer) spacecraft and subsequent confirmation by a later mission called the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP). Together, they made a map of the heavens that revealed the afterglow of the big bang "in excellent agreement with the predictions of inflation", he told the magazine.

As for his greatest mistake, Hawking said: "I used to think information was destroyed in black holes", a belief he later revised. "This was my biggest blunder, or at least my biggest blunder in science." But his work in the field led to the theoretical breakthrough, so far unconfirmed by experiment, that black holes leak information back into the universe through quantum mechanical effects.

The Large Hadron Collider at Cern, the European particle physics laboratory near Geneva, could do more than anything else to revolutionise scientists' understanding of the universe, Hawking said. The machine could find "supersymmetric" particles, which are partners of the more familiar subatomic particles. Such a finding would be "strong evidence" for M-theory, a version of string theory that describes gravity and the other forces of nature in an 11-dimensional universe.
