World's First discoveries
1. World’s First DigitalCamera (1975): Created by Kodak's engineer Steve Sasson
InDecember 1975, Kodak engineer Steve Sasson invented something that would, decades later, revolutionize photography: the world’s first digitalcamera. It was the size of a toaster, and captured black and white imagesat a resolution of 100×100 - or 0.01 megapixels in today’s marketingterminology. The images were stored on cassette tape, taking 23 seconds towrite. The camera uses an ADC from Motorola, a bog-standard (for the1970s) lens from a Kodak movie camera, and a CCD chip from FairchildSemiconductor - the same technology that digital cameras still use today. To playback the images, a special computer and tape reader setup (picturedbelow) was built, outputting the grainy images on a standard TV. It took afurther 23 seconds to read each image from tape.
2. World's First Motel (1925):Motel Inn
Motel Inn in San Luis Obispo, California, is theworld’s first motel. It was built in 1925 by LA architect ArthurHeineman, who coined the term motel meaning "motor hotel." Motel Inn wasoriginally called the Milestone Mo-Tel. Back then, one night stay was$1.25. Heineman couldn’t afford the trademark registration fee, so hiscompetitors were able to use the word "motel." The motel is still inoperation today.
3. World's First Album Cover(1938): Smash Song Hits by Rodgers and Hart
Before AlexSteinweiss, then a 23-year-old designer, invented album covers in 1938 forColumbia Records, albums were sold in plain brown wrappers. The album"Smash Song Hits by Rodgers and Hart" was the very first album cover inthe world.
4. World's First Novel (1007):Tale of Genji
More than a thousend years ago, on 1007, aJapanese court lady put the finishing touches on what is considered theworld's first novel. 6. World's First Motorcycle(1885): Daimler's "riding car"
The First Motorcycle wasdesigned and built by the German inventors Gottlieb Daimler and WilhelmMaybach in Bad Cannstatt (Stuttgart) in 1885. It was essentially amotorised bicycle, although the inventors called their invention theReitwagen ("riding car"). It was also the first petroleum-poweredvehicle.
7. World's First X-Ray (1895):Röntgen's wife hand
In 1895 Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, professor of physics the University of Wurburg in Germany, was doingexperiments with electrical discharges in evacuated glass tubes. Late in1895 Wilhelm Röntgen was alone at night doing his experiments, this timein the dark and noticed a glow was produced on the wall, which he knew wasnot caused by fluorescence or visible light. He named these new, unidentified rays 'X' or if you prefer; X-rays. After several months ofplaying with his discovery he noticed that objects place in the path ofthe rays cast shadows and created images on the wall. Soon after he used aphotgraphic plate and had his wife, Frau Röntgen, place her hand in thepath of the X-rays, creating the world's first X-ray picture. In 1901Wilhelm Röntgen was awarded the very first Nobel Prize in Physics forthis discovery.
8. World's First Computer Mouse(1964): by Douglas Engelbart
The world's first computermouse was made by Douglas Engelbart in 1964, it consisted of twogear-wheels positioned perpendicular to each other -- allowing movement onone axis. Ergonomic shape, great button placement -- and it's made ofwood.
9. World's First Skyscraper(1885): Home Insurance Building in Chicago
Considered to bethe first skyscraper in the world due to the building's uniquearchitecture and unique weight bearing frame, the Home Insurance Buildingwas built in 1885 in Chicago, Illinois and demolished in 1931 to make wayfor the Field Building (now the LaSalle National Bank Building). It wasthe first building to use structural steel in its frame, but the majorityof its structure was composed of cast and wrought iron. It was the firsttall building to be supported, both inside and outside, by a fireproofmetal frame. It had 10 stories and rose to a height of 138 feet (42 m)high.

When hedevised what he called a Word-cross for the Christmas edition, publishedon 21 December, he could have no idea that he would be starting aworldwide craze.
13. World's FirstMicroprocessor (1971): Intel 4004
In November, 1971, acompany called Intel publicly introduced the world's first single chipmicroprocessor, the Intel 4004 (U.S. Patent #3,821,715), invented by Intelengineers Federico Faggin, Ted Hoff, and Stan Mazor. After the inventionof integrated circuits revolutionized computer design, the only place togo was down -- in size that is. The Intel 4004 chip took the integratedcircuit down one step further by placing all the parts that made acomputer think (i.e. central processing unit, memory, input and outputcontrols) on one small chip. Programming intelligence into inanimateobjects had now become possible.
14. World's First Magazine(1731): The Gentleman's Magazine
The Gentleman's Magazine, first published in 1731, in London, is considered to have been the first magazine. Edward Cave, who edited The Gentleman's Magazine under the pen name "Sylvanus Urban", was the first to use the term "magazine", on the analogy of a military storehouse of varied materiel, originally derivedfrom the Arabic makazin "storehouses" . Breathing Exercise
Then I remembered the advice of my good friend, Dr. John Douillard, who said that when you breathe in and out through your mouth you’re exhausting and aging yourself. Years ago he taught me a different way to breathe that increases energy, reverses aging, and promotes greater happiness and well-being.
John called it “Darth Vader” breathing, because when you’re doing it right, you sound just like the Star Wars character. In yoga circles it’s called “Ocean Breath” (it also sounds like the ocean) or ujjayi pranayama, which translates as “the breath that gives victory over fear.” I call it bliss breathing, because it always makes me feel joyful.
John recommends breathing this way while meditating, sitting at your desk, or exercising, so I tried it during my hike. I quickly noticed I was no longer out of breath, and I was feeling more energy—even though I was trudging up a steep hill. Within minutes, I felt a bliss that lasted throughout the day. It worked!
Modern scientific studies are now catching up with ancient wisdom showing that breathing properly can make us feel good—fast. Darth Vader breathing creates a healing response in the body. As the lungs absorb more oxygen, circulation and metabolism improve. This increases your overall life energy.
So anytime you’re feeling down or sluggish, try Darth Vader breathing. It’s easy but powerful. Here’s how:
1. Start by inhaling and exhaling through your mouth, pulling the air from the back of the throat to make it sound like Darth Vader. You will feel the back of the throat slightly constricting. (You can also imagine you’re fogging up a pair of glasses.)
2. Once you get the hang of the sound, close your mouth, and continue inhaling and exhaling in the same way. Take slow and deep breaths. When you’re doing it correctly, you’ll hear the breath coming in and going out. This is the sound people make right before they go to sleep, when they are very relaxed.
Whether you’re on a wonderful summer hike (or winter hike for those in the southern hemisphere), exercising at your gym, or just sitting at home or work, practice breathing your way to greater happiness, love, and bliss!
With love for no reason and every reason,

How to improve brain power
The all-powerful brain.
IQ, which stands for Intelligence Quotient, is an important thing to have. It is a common misconception that one's IQ directly determines that person's intelligence. The IQ is a way of measuring one's problem solving abilities, and favors those who are auditory and visual learners (over interpersonal, intrapersonal, kinesthetic, and olfactory). While IQ is generally thought to be innate, there are things you can do that may improve your IQ score.
Edit Steps
1
First and foremost watch and observe things carefully(with concentration).
2
Open your mind for new ideas.
3
Read! Reading enhances the mind's ability to comprehend, as well as encouraging you to think critically. Reading a book that you have never read before broadens your horizons, thus increasing your IQ. Reading different genres is even more productive, as well as reading newspapers, current events magazines, and multi-content periodicals (such as the New Yorker). Make sure the book is in your reading level. You don't want to read something that is too easy for you.
4
Don't give up. Ignore limiting stereotypes such as "An old dog cannot learn new tricks." Imagine the success you will feel when you bump up ten points. Soon enough, that fantasy will become a reality.
5
Try writing with your opposite hand. Writing with your opposite hand can in fact lead to stimulation of the side of the brain that is opposite to that hand. So perhaps a southpaw could go righty and think more logical, or a righty could try going left-handed to be more creative. Keep in mind this is only a theory.
6
Write whenever possible. Send a note instead of an email, or write a draft of a paper (or an outline). It will increase visual and kinesthetic stimulation.
7
Play video games. Games can be a great way to stimulate the brain. Try to play a game that is out of your usual range of choices. It will help you think differently. Especially look for games that provide you with problems to solve or force you to think quickly.
Scientific studies have shown that playing the popular game Tetris leads to more efficient brain activity; as players become more proficient at the game, their brains show a reduced consumption of glucose (the body's main fuel). This intense scientific study supports this theory. - Actually the conclusions of this study point out that glucose consumption is reduced when learning has taken place. This would be expected as when a person becomes more proficient in any activity, the effort required decreases.
When playing first person shooter titles, try to get into the atmosphere, look at details, think every move as if it were real. This way you don't mindlessly finish the game, and you stimulate the brain to think more than just using reflex
On the other hand, other games like Grand Theft Auto, and similar games can significantly reduce the brain beta-waves and consequently cause an inability to concentrate and a gradual decline in overall intelligence.
8
Work on cryptology. This is when a message is written in codes and you try to figure it out. It's challenging for some, but after a while may even become enjoyable. All logic puzzles are great.
9
Practice crosswords and sudoku. These activities stimulate your mind and thought processes. People may not normally consider word searches thought-provoking, but if practiced in addition to other mind games, they could prove to be easy and stimulating.
10
Do logic and lateral thinking puzzles. These help your brain think outside the box and solve problems in different ways.
11
Take a weekly IQ test and record your results. If you would like to view your improvements, consider placing the results on a line graph using excel or another graph-compatible program.(See external links for a free, tested online IQ test). Bear in mind that many online IQ tests are not legitimate, and many ask for a mobile number at the end for the results. These are spam.
13
Excel in school and have a better career. There is a huge amount of evidence substantiating the correlation between excellent grade and better intelligence. Good grades are the path to better careers and better ways of life. Scientific encephalo case studies show that the brains of sophisticated professionals are anatomically larger, healthier and having more prominent convolutions, whereas the labour workers have much thinner neocortex, implicating lower than average intelligence. This is because the labourers do not use their brains often. Intense learning which is required by many challenging, professional careers can certainly trigger neurogenesis and improve brain's cognitve capacity.
14
Google Eureka Method, be patient... most over all have fun with it. Good luck!
Edit Tips
Eat brain food. Fish is one such brain food. However, avoid fish such as Tuna, as it often contains a high amount of mercury. Also try an Omega 3 or fish oil supplement. These also have great effects on your health.
Exercise. This increases blood flow to the brain-resulting also in increased thought/memory.
Sleep. In order to store information into the long-term memory, you need to get enough sleep to transfer the short-term into the long-term. Studies show that on average, a teenager gets a bump up a grade on a test (A- -A, C+-C, etc) if he or she studies over a few weeks, and for every fifteen minutes in excess of 8 hours of sleep they get, their grade gets the bump up. Remember, this in on average. The bump up will increase or remain the same depending on the student. Just remember, it is a proven fact that sleeping longer stores more information into the long-term memory.
Use a Rubik's Cube, 15-puzzle, or other toy to pass the time instead of watching TV.
Play games like chess and crossword puzzles. They help you to think and it can be fun at the same time.
Take nice, slow deep breaths when you are in thought.
Do cardiovascular exercise and cut down on fatty foods to circulate the blood flow to your brain.

Exercise
Exercise has oodles of benefits, from controlling blood sugar to trimming your waistline. But what might be a fun, enjoyable activity for one person might seem like drudgery to the next.
Is some sort of specific health concern stopping you from stepping out? No worries. There’s a sport or activity that will pump you up but still keep you safe. The key is finding one that suits your interest and health needs. Once you click on the court, in the field, or on the links, you’ll discover a whole new world. What’s even better: When you find a sport you enjoy, you’ll be more likely to exercise—and to reap those sweaty benefits. First, be sure to check with your doctor or health-care professional before starting any new physical activity. To get yourself in the game, following these guidelines to find the best sport for you.
